Two things worth knowing
- The strictest and the most forgiving pull against each other. Amazon Merch demands exactly 4,500 × 5,400. Spreadshirt refuses anything over 4,000 × 4,000. A file built to Amazon's spec cannot be uploaded to Spreadshirt at all — it has to be rebuilt, not reused.
- Most vendors publish no canvas size. Printful and Printify both say "check the product page". That is why resolution here is measured against a 15 × 18 in front print — the size Amazon's own 4,500 × 5,400 at 300 DPI works out to.

Amazon publishes this inside the seller dashboard, behind a login. These values are corroborated across independent third-party sources but were not read from an Amazon page directly.
- Dimensions are exact, not a minimum — 4500 x 5400 or the upload is refused.
- The 25 MB ceiling is the tightest of any vendor here. A detailed transparent PNG at 4500 x 5400 routinely exports well past it.
- PNG only. JPEG and SVG are rejected at upload.

Printful
- Printful asks specifically for sRGB IEC61966-2.1 — their system reads that profile and converts to CMYK itself.
- Per-product canvas sizes sit on each product page under File guidelines; Printful publishes no single number.
- At least 150 DPI for most products, 300 DPI for phone cases and stickers. Printful advises against exceeding 300.
- PNG with a transparent background is what Printful recommends for DTG.

- Printify upscales low-resolution files automatically before production rather than refusing them — so a soft print reaches your customer with no warning to you.
- Like Printful, Printify publishes no fixed canvas size; the Product Creator shows the requirement per print area.
- 300 DPI recommended. Large-format items (leggings, blankets, tapestries) drop to 120-150 DPI.
- JPEG, PNG and SVG. SVG is discouraged for photographic artwork.
- Colour mode: sRGB

Redbubble
- Every product carries its own pixel floor. 9075 x 6201 covers the entire Redbubble catalogue, jigsaw puzzles included.
- Transparency survives only in PNG. A JPEG upload gets a background.
- Redbubble states that DPI and PPI do not affect your uploaded image — only pixel dimensions matter.
- JPEG and PNG only. TIFF and PDF will not work.
- Colour mode: RGB on upload (design in CMYK, convert before uploading)

TeePublic
- The minimum is measured after outer transparent pixels are trimmed — padding does not count toward it.
- Because trimming happens on upload, a design floating in a large transparent canvas gets scaled down, not centred.
- TeePublic’s uploader asks for 150 DPI, lower than most of this list.
- Transparent PNG is what the uploader asks for.

Spreadshirt
- The 10 MB ceiling and the 4000 x 4000 ceiling pull against each other — Spreadshirt names 4000 x 4000 as the largest size that still fits under 10 MB.
- Soft-edged shadows and glows against transparency are explicitly disallowed; use a dither or halftone instead.
- Spreadshirt prints textiles at 200 DPI and documents it as a requirement, not a suggestion.
- PNG, JPG, BMP or GIF for pixel artwork. Only PNG keeps transparency.
